Recording feedback in Feedz is as simple as tapping a button and speaking — no templates to fill out, no notes to type up afterwards. Whether you’re standing on the touchline mid-session or debriefing immediately after the final whistle, your voice is all you need to capture meaningful, actionable observations for every Trainee.

Starting a Recording

1

Open the Feedz app

Launch Feedz on your iOS or Android device. Make sure you’re on the home screen.
2

Select the Trainee

Find and open the profile of the Trainee you want to record feedback for. This links your recording directly to their profile and report history.
3

Tap the Give feedback button

Tap on the Give feedback button to open the voice recording screen.
4

Tap the Record button

Tap the Record button (the microphone icon). Feedz will begin capturing your voice notes immediately.
5

Speak your observations naturally

Talk through what you saw during the session. Describe specific moments, actions, and behaviours as they come to mind. Pause and resume as needed until you’ve captured your feedback. When you’re done, tap Stop.
6

Generate the report

Tap Generate AI Feedback. Feedz will process your recording and produce a structured, professional report within seconds.
Speak the way you’d explain a session to a colleague over coffee — conversational and direct. You don’t need to follow a script or use any particular structure. The AI is built to extract the key insights from natural speech, so the more freely you talk, the better the output.

Tips for Great Recordings

The quality of your AI-generated report is directly tied to the detail you include in your voice note. Keep these principles in mind to get the most useful output every time.

Name the Trainee

Mention the Trainee’s name at least once early in your recording. This helps the AI personalise the report and ensures the feedback reads as specific rather than generic.

Reference specific moments

Describe what happened — “in the second half when defending the corner” is far more useful than “defensively”. Concrete examples give the AI more to work with.

Cover strengths and development areas

Balance your observations. Mention what the Trainee did well alongside what they should focus on improving. A two-sided report is more motivating and actionable for the Trainee.

No formal structure needed

Don’t try to organise your thoughts into sections before you record. Feedz structures the report for you — your job is just to share honest, specific observations.

Voice Edits

After Feedz generates a report, you can request up to 3 voice edits per report to refine the content before sharing it.
1

Review the generated report

Read through the report after it’s generated. Identify anything you’d like to adjust — a point that needs more emphasis, a detail that was misrepresented, or something you’d like added.
2

Tap 'Edit with Voice'

Tap the Edit with Voice option on the report screen to record your revision instructions.
3

Speak your changes

Describe what you want changed in plain language — for example, “Add a note about his first touch improving significantly this week” or “Change the tone of the development section to be more encouraging.”
4

Apply and review

Feedz will update the report based on your instructions. Review the revised version and share when you’re satisfied, or use another edit if needed.
Each report allows a maximum of 3 voice edits. Plan your revisions so you use them where they matter most. Once you’ve Approved a report, it cannot be edited.

What Not to Include in Voice Notes

To protect Trainee welfare and comply with Feedz’s acceptable use policy, keep the following out of your recordings.
Do not include sensitive personal information beyond an Trainee’s name in your voice notes. This includes details such as medical diagnoses, mental health observations, family circumstances, financial information, or anything else that falls outside the scope of sports coaching feedback. Recording such information may violate data protection laws and Feedz’s acceptable use policy.
  • Medical or health information — injuries should be referenced only in the context of performance impact, not diagnosis or treatment details.
  • Personal or family circumstances — home life, relationships, or financial situations have no place in a coaching report.
  • Sensitive identifying information — beyond the Trainee’s name, avoid including addresses, school names, or other information that could identify a minor to a third party.
  • Discriminatory or inappropriate language — feedback must be constructive and professional at all times.
  • Speculation about character or personal attributes — focus on observable behaviours and performance, not assumptions about attitude or personality.
If you’re unsure whether something is appropriate to include, leave it out and address it in a private conversation with the Trainee or their guardian instead.
